56th RAISING DAY PARADE OF CHANDIGARH POLICE
The Voice of Chandigarh News: Raising Day parade was held at the Parade Ground, RTC, Police Lines, Sector 26, Chandigarh. Hon’ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit was the Chief Guest and took the Salute on this occasion. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann also grace the function with his presence. The parade contingents of Chandigarh Police headed by the Parade Commander Ram Gopal, DSP/CID & PRO Chandigarh Police, marched down along with the 14 platoons of parade with pipe band & brass band. The march was followed by mounts squad, dog squad, cycle Squad and fleets of vehicles i.e. Activa Scooter, Traffic & beat motorcycles, Interceptor, Ambulance van, Vajra Tear Gas, X-Ray Machine, Children Traffic Van, Bomb Detection, Kawach, Water Canon and Mobile Police Station. The tableau on Road Safety, Nasha Mukt (by urja children), Drug awareness, Cyber Swachtta Mission were also shown.
Dharampal, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Parveer Ranjan, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh and officers from Chandigarh Administration & Police department, Municipal Councilors, Senior Citizens, distinguished invitees and retired police officers were present at the function.
Parveer Ranjan, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh delivered the welcome address to the Hon’ble guests as well as to the audience. DGP/UT in his official address said that Chandigarh Police is always looking for best ways to enhance services for citizens and to provide crime free environment to them. DGP/UT highlighted the recently introduced online services by Chandigarh Police under technology mission which are as under:-
- E-Awaas
- E-Office
- ICJS
- Integrated Complaint Management System (ICMS)
- ITMS
- iRAD
- EHRM,
- Citizen Service Centre
Many latest and modern technologies and many new schemes have also been started in this order to build a close bonding with the members of the public and to form stronger partnerships between Police and the communities they serve.
Along with this, Chandigarh Police has also signed various MoUs like NETGRID with NETSTAR for online applications, Memorandum with National University of Forensic Sciences, Gandhi Nagar. Apart from this, Chandigarh Police is able to easily exchange information through Nidan software to curb drug addiction, which will save the youth from drug addiction. For improving cyber investigation and forensics, CENCOPS has been proposed to enhance the cyber capabilities of the police forces of the region and make Chandigarh Police a future ready police force.
Hon’ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Banwarilal Purohit awarded the 04 police officers of Chandigarh police with DGP Commendation Disc awards as mentioned below:-
- Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP – Golden Disc
- Ram Gopal, DSP/CID & PRO Chd Police – Silver Disc
- Jaswinder Singh, DSP/Traffic – Silver Disc
- SI Surinder Singh, Traffic – Bronze Disc
The pining ceremony for new promotes was also held in which total 27 officials i.e. Head Constable to ASI (07) and Sr. Constable to Head Constable (20) were decorated.
Under ‘Swatchta Sarvekshan’ ranking following police stations have been awarded as mentioned below:-
- Police Station, Sector-36, Chandigarh – 1st Position
- Police Staion, Sector-31, Chandigarh – 2nd Position
- IRBn, Sarangpur – 3rd Position
His Excellency also awarded the winning teams of HACKATHON event organized by Chandigarh Police in association with Infosys Pvt. Ltd, Chandigarh and HDFC Bank Chandigarh, as per the guidelines of MHA, Government of India under Cyber Swachtha Mission. Team JMIT Unplugged from Seth Jai Prakash Mukund Lal Institute of Technology was declared 1st winner and Team- Botify from Chandigarh University, Team- WeSecure from IIT Jodhpur were declared Joint 2nd winners.
On this Occasion, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit appreciated the Chandigarh Police and wished all the members of Chandigarh Police force on the occasion of their 56th Raising Day. Hon’ble Chief Guest said since the inception, Chandigarh police has earned reputation for itself doing being a force known for its integrity, excellence, commitment, accountability, fairness and professionalism. Hon’ble Chief Guest also highlighted the important initiatives started by the Chandigarh Police. At last, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator, Banwari Lal Purohit praised and gave compliments to all officers of Chandigarh Police for their best parade.
