Sahayta Charitable Welfare Society conducts an online Inter School Declamation Contest

THE VOICE OF CHANDIGARH NEWS:

Sahayta Charitable Welfare Society, in collaboration with The Pink Elephant, conducted an online Inter School Declamation Contest on the harmful effects of tobacco, pan, bidi, gutka etc.

12 schools from the tricity participated in the contest.

Divya Grover of class X, Shishu Niketan School, Sector 22(D) won the first prize, while Pranjay of class IX, St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, finished second and Manushree Chugh of class IX, Vivek High School, Mohali, won the third position. 

A consolation prize was awarded to Shivam Sehgal of class IX of St John’s School, Sector 26.

The main aim of the event was to spread awareness regarding tobacco and its harmful effects as these days the young ones are at great risk because of peer pressure. The judges of the event, Mrs Santosh Bhan, Dr Renu Lamba and Dr Arjun Arya had a tough time selecting the winners as all the speakers were at their best.
