COVID Vaccination for Children (Age Group 15 years to 18 Years) and Pre-Caution Dose
As per eligible population projected by the Central Government, there are about 72000 eligible children within the particular age band. COVAXIN vaccine is being used and to avoid any confusion with the ongoing vaccination, separate Vaccination Centers have been provided for children vaccination.
Registration on the Co-WIN portal can be made and vaccination has already started at 09.00am today for the children age group of 15 years to 18 years. There is highly encouraging response from the youngsters and we may administer first dose to all the eligible children within this month itself.
Dedicated vaccination centers have been provided at the following health facilities and the slots for vaccination can be booked through Co-WIN portal. Preference is being given to online booked slots and subject to availability of vacant slots, walk-in registrations are also allowed at these centers:

b) GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh
c) GMSH Sector 16, Chandigarh
d) Civil Hospital, Manimajra, Chandigarh
e) Civil Hospital, Sector-22, Chandigarh
f) Civil Hospital, Sector 45, Chandigarh
g) Govt. Senior Secondary School, Dhanas, Chandigarh
h) Govt. Model High School, RC-II, Maloya, Chandigarh
i) Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, MHC, Manimajra, Chandigarh
j) Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School, Sector 20-B, Chandigarh (exclusively for eligible girl Childs)
The Director Social Welfare, Chandigarh is preparing a list of eligible children for vaccination in different Homes of the Social Welfare Department so that a health team can do the vaccination at the particular Homes itself.
Dharampal, Adviser to the Administrator UT reviewed the arrangements for COVID Vaccination for children and has decided that we need not to wait for re-opining of schools after winter vacations. Hence the vaccination camps at schools will start from tomorrow itself. Following 06 schools will have the vaccination camps from 04.01.2022:

b. Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 10
c. Govt. Model Sr Sec. School, Sector 35
d. DAV Sr. Sec. School, Sector 8-C
e. Sri Guru Gobind Singh High School, Sector 35
f. Delhi Public School, Sector 40
Precaution dose to all HWs, FWs and the Citizens of 60 years plus with co- morbidities will be administered from 10th January, 2022. As per projections of the Central Government, number of co-morbid population of City, in 60+ age group is 15,600.
There must be a gap of 09 months i.e. 39 weeks from the date administration of 2nd dose. The vaccine for Pre-Caution Dose will be the same as was for first and second dose. The arrangements for Precaution Dose are being in accordance guidelines from the Central Government.
1st and 2nd Dose of Vaccination: During last week, record number of vaccination has been done in all the COVID Vaccination Centers in Chandigarh. Still about 10% of the adult population yet to get second dose and there may be some individuals who have not yet got even first dose. All such persons are requested to get the 1st and 2nd dose of vaccination in within next four days because from next week, we may convert some of adult vaccination Centers into Child Vaccination Centers. Hence such remaining persons to immediately rush and get the vaccination done within this week itself. The vaccination will give them better immunity to fight against COVID.
Vaccine Availability: Vaccines are sufficiently available for both adult and child vaccinations.
