During the year 2022 under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann various efforts were made by the state government to promote tourism in the state, including maintenance of heritage buildings and museums depicting the history of Punjab so that tourists from other states can be attracted to Punjab.
Giving more information in this regard, Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Labour, Investment Promotion and Grievance Redressal Minister Ms. Anmol Gagan Mann said that e-booking facility for entry at Virasat-e-Khalsa and Dastan-e-Shahadat for the convenience of tourists has been launched so that the tourists do not face any trouble when they reach here.
She explained that the Punjab Pavilion was inaugurated during the Punjab Day function at the 41st India International Trade Fair-2022 held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. On this occasion, people were made more aware about the history of the state by putting up exhibitions showing the heritage and culture of the state of Punjab.
She disclosed that the state government has decided to upgrade the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Museum at Khatkar Kalan, the native village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh so that the youth can get information and inspiration from the life of the great freedom fighter. She said that this museum will be upgraded with the help of latest multi-media technologies, projection mapping, graphic content and audio and video content. The government will spend Rs 3.57 crore on the renovation work of the memorial.
Apart from this, she said that Rs.29.24 crores has been released to the District Administration, Kapurthala for the acquisition of land for setting up of Heritage Complex ‘Pind Babe Nanak Da’ at Sultanpur Lodhi.
She informed that that Punjab Government has decided to develop Anglo-Sikh war circuit to boost tourism in the state. The government has allocated Rs 15.50 crore for the development of the Anglo-Sikh war circuit. Development of the circuit will involve renovation and preservation of monuments with the help of latest multi-media technologies.
Apart from this the Minister for Tourism and Cultural affairs share more information that restoration and conservation works of various monuments and heritage properties of Punjab Government such as Sheesh Mahal Patiala, Mahindra Kothi Patiala, Banasar Bagh Sangrur, Qila Mubarak, and other historical heritages were carried out . She explained that in order to make the tourists more aware about the tourism of the state, various promotional events were organized at the national level.
