Namaste Thailand Festival 2023 brings authentic Thai experience to India

The Namaste Thailand Festival has returned after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ready to showcase Thainess to Indian friends. The festival, organised by the Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and various partners, will take place from 24 – 26 March 2023 at Select CITYWALK, New Delhi.
Visitors can indulge in authentic Thai cuisine and beverages from seven renowned Thai restaurants in Delhi and nearby areas. Moreover, one can stroll around many of the stalls and enjoy shopping various kinds of products from Thailand such as kitchenware, ceramics, herbal balm, accessories, clothing lines, food items and jewelry.
Beginning in the afternoon, visitors can enjoy and participate in activities on stage such as a cooking demonstration by the Ambassador of Thailand to India, who will demonstrate how to make the famous authentic Som Tum or Thai Papaya Salad. Following that will be a cooking competition in which participants can try their hand at making Thai dish with a close suggestion by the team from the International Institute of Culinary Arts. Workshops on fruit and vegetable carving and Thai food cooking will also be provided twice a day on 25 – 26 March 2023 at the Royal Thai Embassy’s booth. Participants will learn about the ingredients and techniques used in making a delicious Thai dishes. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will also provide many activities at its booth to cater to the interests of enthusiasts who wish to be on vacation in Thailand.
For those who enjoy martial arts, Indian athletes from the United Muaythai Association – India (UMAI) will showcase a Muay Thai demonstration on stage. Furthermore, any visitors can show off their knowledge about Thailand by participating in the fun Namaste Thailand Flash Quizzes and win gifts from Thailand. Visitors can also easily get a chance to win the lucky draws.
In the evenings, visitors can enjoy a mini concert by Ma Kao Hang, who will fly in from Kalasin province in the Northeast of Thailand to showcase Thai-traditional and classical music. Their uniqueness and musical talents in fusing Isan (Northeastern region of Thailand) traditional instruments with other musical instruments will surely entertain and make the evening memorable for everyone.
