Modi and Xi Jinping Meet at BRICS Summit, Focus on India-China Relations
The Voice of Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping of China engaged in a pivotal meeting during the 16th BRICS Summit, addressing crucial developments in India-China relations. Both leaders welcomed the recent agreement for complete disengagement and resolution of border issues that arose in 2020.
Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of managing differences constructively to maintain peace and tranquility between the two nations. They agreed that their Special Representatives would meet soon to oversee the management of peace in border areas and work towards a fair solution to the boundary question. The leaders also committed to utilizing various dialogue mechanisms, including discussions at the level of Foreign Ministers, to stabilize and rebuild bilateral ties.
Affirming the significance of stable relations between India and China, Modi and Xi acknowledged that their cooperation would positively impact regional and global peace and prosperity.
