The Voice of Chandigarh:
The Police Complaint Authority (PCA) in the Union Territory of Chandigarh is now fully operational, offering a platform for citizens to file grievances against police officials and officers.
Justice Kuldip Singh (retired) has been appointed as the Chairman of the Authority, assuming office on 9th December 2024. Mr. Amarjot Singh Gill, IPS (retired), and Ms. Dheera Khandelwal, IAS (retired), have also joined as Members of the Authority, starting 13th December 2024.
The PCA provides an avenue for any citizen to lodge complaints related to police misconduct or grievances against any police personnel in Chandigarh. Citizens can approach the Authority in person at Room No. 27, Old U.T. Secretariat Building, Sector-9, Chandigarh. Alternatively, complaints can be sent via email to papcahd@chd.nic.in.
This move aims to ensure greater accountability and transparency within the police department, providing a fair and impartial platform for the public to voice their concerns.
