The Voice of Chandigarh | Travel Trade Reporter
In a significant move to enhance its global connectivity, Air India has announced exciting updates to its international route network, set to begin in 2025. The airline’s plans include the deployment of its most advanced aircraft, optimized schedules, and upgraded cabin interiors, aiming to provide passengers with greater flexibility and a superior travel experience.
Retrofitted A320neo Takes Flight on Delhi-Bangkok Route
Starting 16 January 2025, Air India will deploy its retrofitted A320neo aircraft on all flights between Delhi and Bangkok. The refreshed interiors across Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class will enhance the in-flight experience, offering Vista Stream, a free wireless entertainment service, with over 1600 hours of content available on passengers’ personal devices.
Additionally, the airline will increase the frequency of the Delhi-Bangkok route, with a fourth daily service beginning 1 January 2025. This expanded schedule will provide even more options for travelers, with seamless one-stop connections to Bangkok from cities across North America and Europe via Delhi.
Upgraded Aircraft for Key European and Southeast Asian Routes
Air India is also upgrading its fleet for key routes to Frankfurt and Singapore. From 1 January 2025, the airline will operate B787-9 aircraft on the Delhi-Frankfurt and Mumbai-Frankfurt routes. The Delhi-Singapore route will be served once daily by the B787-9 and twice daily by the A321neo, while Mumbai-Singapore will see A321neo flights twice daily.
These aircraft come with the latest cabin features, including fully flat beds in Business Class, Premium Economy, and HD inflight entertainment, with Wi-Fi connectivity across cabins.
Optimized Schedules for Seamless Connections
In another significant move, Air India will introduce optimized schedules on several high-demand routes starting 1 February 2025. The Delhi-Frankfurt and Delhi-Paris flights will offer both daytime and nighttime departures, providing greater flexibility for travelers. Additionally, the schedules for Delhi-Sydney and Delhi-Melbourne flights will be adjusted to allow smoother one-stop connections between Europe and Australia, as well as Southeast Asia, via Air India’s hubs in Delhi and Mumbai.
This enhanced connectivity will make it easier for passengers to travel between cities like London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Sydney or Melbourne, with just one stop at Air India’s global hubs.
A New Era of International Travel with Air India
These strategic updates are part of Air India’s ongoing efforts to modernize its fleet and enhance passenger experiences. The airline’s investment in state-of-the-art aircraft and optimized schedules is designed to offer travelers more convenience, flexibility, and comfort on their international journeys.
With these changes, Air India continues to strengthen its position as a global carrier, offering an enriched travel experience across its expanding network.
