ITA Airways joins the United Nations Global Compact
The global initiative towards increasingly sustainable and responsible policies
The Voice of Chandigarh News:
ITA Airways has joined the United Nations Global Compact, the initiative that encourages businesses worldwide to adopt socially responsible and sustainable policies.
The UN Global Compact aims to promote a sustainable global economy, asking its participants to voluntarily align their operations and strategies with the Ten Principles, universally accepted, in the areas of human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and anti-corruption. This commitment also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“By joining the United Nations Global Compact, ITA Airways reaffirms its dedication to contributing to the planet’s sustainable development by integrating sustainability into our business strategies,” said Andrea Benassi, General Director of ITA Airways. “Collaboration through synergies between operators in different sectors is essential to deliver meaningful changes for future generations”.
ITA Airways will integrate the UN Global Compact Principles across all its activities and will report annually on its progress. This effort aligns with the universally recognized values and principles of the United Nations, alongside thousands of companies participating worldwide. The UN Global Compact has a multi-stakeholder nature that welcomes the participation of several actors, including companies, academic organizations, trade unions, NGOs, public administrations, and other institutions. Launched in 2000, it is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, with over 20,000 companies participating in more than 160 countries and 60 Country Networks.
