The Voice of Chandigarh News – Indian Railways has dismissed reports circulating in certain media outlets, claiming that passengers would be allowed to travel free of charge during the Maha Kumbh Mela. In an official statement, Indian Railways categorically denied these claims, labeling them as baseless and misleading.
The railway authorities emphasized that traveling without a valid ticket is strictly prohibited under Indian Railways’ rules and constitutes a punishable offense. They clarified that there are no provisions for free travel during the Maha Kumbh Mela or on any other occasion.
To ensure smooth travel for passengers during the event, Indian Railways is making extensive arrangements, including the creation of special holding areas, the establishment of additional ticket counters, and other necessary facilities to handle the anticipated surge in passengers.
