Fraud Cases Registered in Chandigarh: Two Individuals Lose Money in Separate Scams

The Voice of Chandigarh News : Two separate cases of fraud have been reported in the city, with victims alleging significant monetary losses due to deceptive schemes.

In the first case, an FIR (No. 07) has been registered at Police Station 39 under sections 409, 420, 120B of the IPC, and section 24 of the Immigration Act. Gurwinder Singh, a resident of Vill-Badheri, Chandigarh, filed a complaint against several women from Sector-41, Chandigarh. Singh claims that the accused cheated him out of ₹12 lakh in connection with a visa-related matter. The investigation is currently ongoing.

In a second case, another FIR (No. 07) has been lodged at PS-Cyber Crime under sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, and 120B of the IPC. Mahinder Pal Singh, a resident of Sector-35, Chandigarh, alleged that an unknown individual fraudulently withdrew ₹1.4 lakh from his bank account through an online scam, promising treatment for his parents. The investigation into this cybercrime is also progressing.

Authorities are actively investigating both cases and urge residents to be cautious of such scams.
