Chandigarh Administration Unveils State-of-the-Art Basketball Court at Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8

The Voice of Chandigarh News : In a significant step towards realizing the “Future Ready Chandigarh Vision 2030 and Beyond” of Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, the Engineering Department of Chandigarh Administration has constructed a state-of-the-art basketball court at Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8. The project, developed at a cost of Rs. 70 Lacs over an area of 7,000 sq. ft., aims to promote sports and provide young athletes with world-class infrastructure at the school level.

The newly built court features FIBA (International Basketball Federation) approved synthetic PU flooring, ensuring durability, safety, and an optimal playing experience. A color coat has been applied on the Polyurea surface, enhancing aesthetics and functionality, while game marking lines have been meticulously painted as per international standards.

This initiative is expected to boost sports training and competitive events, offering students a professional-grade playing surface. By providing a world-class basketball facility, the school reinforces its commitment to physical education and student development, encouraging young talents to hone their skills and compete at higher levels.
