The Global Association of Events and Hospitality Professionals (GAHEP) played a key role in the Industry Partnership Summit 2025, organized by the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Gangtok, under the Sikkim INSPIRES initiative at Mayfair Spa & Resort, Ranipool.
Bringing together hospitality professionals, industry leaders, and academic institutions, the summit aimed to address pressing challenges in hospitality education, workforce development, and industry-academia collaboration. Discussions focused on bridging the skills gap by ensuring students receive industry-relevant training and placement opportunities. The event emphasized technological advancements, workforce readiness, and skill development, featuring panel discussions, expert talks, and networking sessions with key stakeholders from the hospitality and tourism sectors.
GAHEP’s Key Contributions to the Summit
GAEHP President Mr. Rajesh Arya was a key speaker, delivering an insightful presentation on “Current Hiring Trends in Hospitality & Tourism.” His address underscored the significance of structured training, standardized certifications, and industry-academia partnerships to cultivate a highly skilled future workforce.
Accompanying him, Ms. Geeta Maheshwari, GAHEP’s Director of PR & Liaisoning, actively participated in discussions with policymakers, educators, and hospitality professionals to explore avenues for industry collaboration and growth.

The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Mr. Tshering Thendup Bhutia, Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim, who graced the summit as Chief Guest, alongside Mr. C.S. Rao, Principal Secretary, Tourism Department. Government representatives reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening hospitality training programsand expanding placement opportunities for IHM Gangtok graduates.
