Air India Confirms Flight AI171 Involved in Accident After Take-off from Ahmedabad

Air India has confirmed that its Flight AI171, operating from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, was involved in an accident shortly after take-off today.

The Boeing 787-8 aircraft departed Ahmedabad at 13:38 hrs with 242 passengers and crew on board. Among them were 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese nationals, and 1 Canadian national.

The injured are being transported to the nearest hospitals for medical attention. Details on the nature of the accident and injuries are awaited.
