IndiGo Flight’s Scary Abort: 151 Passengers, MP Dimple Yadav Escape Major Mishap in Lucknow
The Voice of Chandigarh
Lucknow, Sept 14: A major tragedy was narrowly averted today at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow, when IndiGo flight 6E-2111 (Lucknow to Delhi) carrying 151 passengers, including Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav, was forced into an emergency landing after failing to take off properly.

According to initial reports, the Airbus aircraft began its takeoff roll around 11 AM, but soon after accelerating, pilots noticed that the plane was not gaining sufficient thrust. Realizing the potential danger, the captain immediately applied full emergency brakes as the aircraft neared the end of the runway. The plane came to a jolting halt, sending panic among passengers.
Airport officials confirmed that the situation arose due to an engine thrust shortfall, which prevented the aircraft from lifting off. Fortunately, the crew’s quick decision-making ensured that all passengers and crew were safe, with no injuries reported.
Eyewitnesses described moments of fear and chaos, as passengers braced for impact before the aircraft screeched to a stop. “We felt the plane shuddering and then suddenly braking hard. Everyone was terrified,” one passenger said.
IndiGo issued a statement confirming the incident and assured that the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) has been notified. A technical inspection of the aircraft is underway, and passengers, including MP Dimple Yadav, were rebooked on alternate flights to Delhi.
Aviation experts suggest that such incidents, though rare, underline the importance of rigorous safety protocols and the quick response of trained pilots in preventing disasters.
