3-Day Chandigarh Carnival 2025 begins at Leisure Valley

The 3-Day Chandigarh Carnival 2025 was inaugurated  by Mandip Singh Brar, Home Secretary-cum-Secretary Tourism, UT Chandigarh Administration.

The Home Secretary flagged off the Carnival Parade, which showcased vibrant floats created by students of Government College of Arts Chandigarh as well as Vintage Cars. Visitors explored colourful exhibition stalls, interacted with artists from various cities, and immersed themselves in the festive spirit.

Government departments presented schemes of the Government of India in their dedicated exhibition stalls, alongside products from various government societies of the Union Territory, and initiatives promoting traffic awareness. This unique blend of cultural festivities and informative displays highlighted the carnival’s commitment to providing a diverse and enriching experience for attendees. The carnival also features live painting sessions. Netizens can enjoy delicacies from different regions at the food stalls and experience adventure rides at the amusement park.

The day was filled with art workshops conducted by artists from Chandigarh, Delhi, Tripura, Assam, and South Korea. Live demonstrations by young artists of the Tricity included pottery, sculpture, printmaking, and portrait painting.

As part of the Chandigarh Carnival 2025, Mystical Confluence, a special art exhibition and video installation at the Government Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10 was also inaugurated. The exhibition, featuring works by South Korean artist Jang Hee Mun and Indian artist Devendra Shukla, will remain on display until 16 November 2025. A live demonstration on Korean rice paper and canvas will be held on 16 November at 4:30 pm. In addition, an on-the-spot Photography Competition on the theme “Glimpses from Carnival – Chandigarh Carnival 2025” is being conducted at the carnival venue, with submission of entries on 16 November by 1:00 pm at the CLKA Pavilion and prizes for the top three entries to encourage creative participation from visitors and photography enthusiasts.

The evening of November 14 features a scintillating live musical band performance, followed by a mesmerising live singing performance by renowned singer Harbhajan Mann on November 15, and singer Abhijit Bhattacharya on November 16.
