“BE TORCH BEARERS OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION” — JUSTICE ALOK JAIN ADMINISTERS OATH TO 254 NEW ADVOCATES AT BAR COUNCIL CONVOCATION

Justice Alok Jain Judge Punjab and Haryana High Court graced the occasion as Chief Guest and distributed 254 Enrolment certificates after administrating oath to the newly enrolled advocates in the convocation ceremony organized by Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana at Law Bhawan. His Lordship wishing them success in practice, motivated new entrants to take pride in themselves and uphold the dignity of the legal profession. His Lordship encouraged them to not be a rouge group rather be torch bearer of the institution upholding its dignity.

Justice Jain welcomed all the new entrants and his Lordship’s heartfelt addressal which brought great encouragement to the newly enrolled young lawyers to strive for excellence and to make a positive impact on society without adopting shortcuts.

Justice Jaishree Thakur, Judge Punjab and Haryana High Court (Retd) and  Returning Officer Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, welcomed the gathering and expressed her gratitude to Hon’ble Justice Alok Jain and advised the new entrants to maintain dignity and integrity of the noble legal profession, amongst the presence of other Advocates as well as parents and guardians of the newly enrolled advocates who belong to different places of Punjab, Haryana and U.T. Chandigarh.

Around 254 lawyers got themselves enrolled with the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana in their convocation ceremony. The convocation ceremony is a momentous occasion, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of lawyers.

It is also pertinent to mention here that the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana was established under the Advocates Act 1961 and since its inception Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana has on its roll more than One lac fifty eight thousand advocates.
