Harraj Singh Sidhu welcomed the Union Budget 2026, calling it a progressive step for India’s tourism and travel industry. He highlighted the reduction of Tax Collected at Source (TCS) on outbound tour packages to a flat 2%, which will ease financial pressure on travellers and support tour operators.
Sidhu also praised initiatives in tourism infrastructure development, including heritage site modernization, the establishment of the National Institute of Hospitality, high-speed rail corridors, waterways, and medical tourism hubs.
“This Budget strengthens India’s tourism ecosystem, creates jobs, and enhances our global competitiveness. It provides the momentum needed for sustainable growth in the travel sector,” he said.
TAAI looks forward to leveraging these reforms to promote travel, foster skill development, and contribute to the growth of Incredible India.
