The 12th Annual Women Artists Contemporary Art Exhibition, organized by Artscapes, was inaugurated by the Governor of Haryana, Ashim Kumar Ghosh, at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16.

The exhibition marks another significant milestone in Artscapes’ ongoing commitment since 2011 to promote creativity, dialogue, and inclusivity in contemporary art. Once again, Chandigarh—the City Beautiful has emerged as a vibrant hub of artistic expression.

Bringing together diverse artistic voices from across the country and abroad, the exhibition showcases over 100 selected artworks, including paintings, sculptures, printmaking, drawings, and photography. The artworks have been carefully chosen from more than 1,000 entries received from various Indian states as well as countries such as Greece, Turkey, Czechoslovakia, England, Poland, Russia, and Sweden.

The exhibition highlights evolving perspectives, lived experiences, and imaginative expressions of contemporary women artists, reflecting the dynamic nature of today’s global art landscape.

Adding intellectual depth to the exhibition is a curatorial note by noted curator and author Premjish Achari, offering critical insights into its thematic and conceptual framework.

The selection process was carried out by an esteemed jury panel, including renowned contemporary Indian artist Vibha Galhotra, recipient of the Asia Society Game Changer Award and fellow of prestigious institutions such as the Inlaks Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center, and Asian Cultural Council.

The exhibition is expected to draw art enthusiasts, collectors, and critics, further strengthening Chandigarh’s position as a leading center for contemporary art and culture.
