CHANDIGARH PRESS CLUB ELECTIONS: SAURABH DUGGAL RE-ELECTED AS PRESIDENT

Saurabh Duggal has been re-elected as President of the Chandigarh Press Club. His victory reflects the continued trust and support of the club members.

A total of 626 votes were cast. Duggal secured 330 votes, while his opponent Sura received 293 votes.

In the overall results, Duggal and Umesh Sharma’s panel won five posts, while the Sura–Joginder panel secured the remaining four posts.

Umesh Sharma was elected Senior Vice-President with 335 votes, defeating Mukesh Athwal (285) by 50 votes. Aarti Agnihotri became Vice-President (I) with 321 votes, winning against Neha Sharma (298) by 23 votes. Ajay Jalandhari was elected Vice-President (II), securing 319 votes against Dushyant Pundir (302).

Rajesh Dhall won the post of Secretary-General in a very close contest, defeating Joginder by just 3 votes (311–308).

Prabhat Katiyar was elected Secretary with 326 votes, defeating Rahul Devesh (297) by 29 votes.

For the posts of Joint Secretaries, Pawan Tiwari (319 votes) won Joint Secretary (I) by defeating Ashish Kumar (300), while Brijinder Gaur (314 votes) was elected Joint Secretary (II), defeating Sheetal Dadhwal (308).

The closest contest was for the post of Treasurer, where Jagtar Singh Bhullar won by just one vote, securing 310 votes against Amarpreet Singh’s 309.

The election saw active participation from members and reflected a balanced outcome, with representation from both panels in the new executive body.
