ARTISTS ORGANIZED THE PAFTA CINE AWARD 2026 : THE CINEMA OF OUR LANGUAGE IS OUR FAMILY – BINNU DHILLON

Artists organized the PAFTA Cine Award 2026

The cinema of our language is our family – Binnu Dhillon

Punjabi cinema is our family, its joys and sorrows are common to all of us, these words were expressed by the organization PAFTA General Secretary Binnu Dhillon by awarding the PAFTA Cine Award 2006. The organization’s president Ammy Virk said that the honor and respect of cinema technicians, actors and workers is the honor of our cinema and our mother tongue. The PAFTA Cine Award dedicated to World Punjabi Cinema Day was celebrated with great pomp at the campus of CGC University Mohali.

In which hundreds of cinema workers associated with cinema participated. Awards were given for different departments working in the cinema world.

Speaking, the patron of the organization, Padma Shri Nirmal Rishi, said that people of every province and every language have worked for their cinema language and community. It is our duty to unite and everyone’s effort  pass on our language and culture to the coming generation through our cinema. On this occasion, actress Tanya won the hearts of the audience through her songs and her performance. Sufi lyricist singer Kanwar Grewal showcased his unique singing style. The Bhangra of 65 to 70 year old artists from Aari Aari Foundation was also worth watching. The performance of the team known as Shaan-e-Bhangra, which has registered its name in the Guinness Book of World Records, was also the highlight of the program.

Gippy Grewal, while receiving the award, expressed his gratitude and said that this is an award from our industry which will be even bigger in the coming time. The awardees included Gippy Grewal, Tanya, Dev Kharod, Gurtej Akhtar B. N. Sharma, Sunita Dhir, Jas Grewal, Gurjit Editor, J. P. Singh for photography, Alok ji for art, Sneha for costume designer, Rajinder for sound recording, Ashwini for Rabab studio, Surinder Suri for child artist, Happy Raikoti and Guru Nanak Jahaj film Aadi were given awards. The trailer of the film Khushkhabari was also released during this ceremony. Sonu Pradhan’s Bhangra team created amazing colors.

The chairman of the organization, Guggu Gill, thanked everyone and said that our cinema has given us identity and respect. We will do such programs every year. Apart from others, Shivinder Mahal, B. N. Sharma, Gurpreet Kaur Bhangu, Rupinder Rupi, Seema Kaushal, Satwant Kaur, Tarsem, Gurmeet Sajan, Sukhminder Dhanjal, Sardar Sohi, Raj Dhaliwal, Poonam Sud, Habbi Sangha, Bharwajit Sharma, Shamsher Sandhu, Bob Khaira, Ratan Aulakh, Dilawar Sidhu, Sikandar Salim, Balvir Tanda, Bharat Bhushan etc. many other famous artists arrived.
