The Chandigarh Club Employees Cricket League 2026 concluded on a high note with Team Major registering a comprehensive 60-run victory over Team Varinder in the grand final, showcasing exceptional all-round performance and sportsmanship.
After winning the toss, Team Major elected to bat first and produced a flawless batting display, posting an imposing total of 96 without loss in 6 overs. The innings was anchored by Nandlal, who played a scintillating knock of 66 runs unbeaten, displaying timing and composure throughout. He was well supported by Sutixen Mehta, who remained not out on 24, ensuring a commanding total for the team.
In reply, Team Varinder faced stiff resistance from Team Major’s disciplined bowling attack and could manage only 36 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 6 overs. Bhuwan emerged as the top scorer with 15 runs, while Sanjay contributed 10 runs.
Team Major’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance:
- Vikas claimed 2 wickets for 10 runs
- Subhash Saini took 2 wickets for 8 runs
- Santosh chipped in with 1 wicket for 7 runs
For his outstanding and consistent performances throughout the tournament, Nandlal was deservedly adjudged both Man of the Match and Man of the Series.
