National stands of 9 countries will be presented at the International Travel Forum “Travel!”, which will take place from June 10 to 14 at VDNH in Moscow. Among them, Belarus, Nicaragua, Thailand and Sri Lanka will participate for the first time, alongside Venezuela, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Uganda and Abkhazia. The international presence opens up additional opportunities for the development of inbound and outbound tourism, the establishment of new travel connections and the expansion of business cooperation between states. The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation jointly with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Government of Russia.
“The ‘Travel!’ Forum today is one of the largest platforms for developing international tourism dialogue. This year we expect guests from more than 30 friendly countries. Traditionally, we will hold a series of working groups and bilateral meetings as part of consistent efforts to liberalize the visa regime, increase transport accessibility and launch direct flights. The business program includes sessions where we will present tourism products from Russian regions tailored for tourists from China, India and the Middle Eastern states. In turn, our travelers will be able to learn more about national traditions, landmarks, routes and holiday options at the stands of foreign countries,” Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Dmitry Vakhrukov emphasized.
A program of activities on the national stands for festival visitors has already been confirmed. Thailand is preparing a lottery with questions, a presentation of sports products, national-style face painting, a photo booth with instant printing, a tasting of Thai sweets, a Thai fortune-telling for luck and the game “Plinko: Catch Your Luck.” The Nicaragua stand will offer visitors a photo opportunity with a girl in a national costume in an atmospheric photo zone. At the Sri Lanka stand, traditional tea ceremonies will be held, and consultations on the country’s tourism potential will be organized. In addition, Russian tourists will be able to receive discounts and special offers on tourism products.
“The Festival allows one to get acquainted with the culture, traditions and tourism opportunities of different countries of the world in just a few days. It is this format of live interaction that helps to build sustainable interest in travel, strengthens international ties and makes tourism an important tool for cultural dialogue,” Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation, Director of the International Travel Forum “Travel!” Vladimir Zatynaiko noted.
A mobile guide to the venue will be available for forum guests, with navigation to stands, information on activities and special offers from participants and partners. In addition, visitors will be able to take part in a quest, with prizes awarded for its completion.
Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced that delegations from 75 regions of Russia will also take part in the International Travel Forum “Travel!”. The main theme of the forum is dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by the Decree of President Vladimir Putin — “Different Cultures — Common Values: Travel that Unites People.”
Online registration for media and blogosphere representatives is open on the official Forum website. Applications for participation can be submitted in accordance with the event accreditation rules posted on the official Forum website in the “Media” section, until May 29.
