Chandigarh Cashier Murder Accused Shot in Encounter After Daring Escape Attempt Near Dhanas Forest Area

In a major breakthrough in the sensational murder case of Shrikumar Chemist Shop cashier Jankidas, Chandigarh Police conducted an encounter with the accused shooters who allegedly attempted to flee while being brought back from Jammu and Kashmir after their arrest.
According to police sources, the accused were being transported to Chandigarh when they tried to escape near the forest area of Dhanas. Sensing the escape attempt, the police team immediately moved to stop them. However, when the accused allegedly refused to surrender and continued their attempt to flee, the police were compelled to open fire.
During the encounter, both accused sustained bullet injuries in their legs. Police personnel quickly overpowered the injured shooters and took them into custody. They were subsequently shifted to a hospital for medical treatment under tight security.
The encounter marks a significant development in the investigation into the shocking daylight murder of Jankidas, the cashier of a chemist shop in Sector 11, Chandigarh, who was gunned down on June 13.
