Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Chandigarh Flags Off ‘SIR Van’ to Promote Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls

To enhance public awareness and encourage greater participation in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls, Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Chandigarh, today flagged off an SIR Public Awareness Vehicle from the Chandigarh Secretariat, Sector 9.

The awareness campaign is being conducted as part of the Enumeration Phase of the Special Intensive Revision, which commenced on June 15, 2026 and will continue till July 14, 2026. The Public Awareness Vehicle will travel across various sectors and public places in Chandigarh to disseminate information about the revision process and encourage eligible citizens to verify and update their electoral details.

As part of the awareness initiative, an SIR Photo Booth was also set up at the venue to promote public engagement.

Urging residents to actively participate in the ongoing revision process and cooperate with Booth Level Officers during the enumeration phase, the District Election Officer emphasized the importance of ensuring the inclusion of all eligible citizens, correction of entries and preparation of accurate electoral rolls for a transparent, inclusive and error-free electoral system.

Also present on the occasion were AEROs Rajiv Tewari and Naveen, along with other officials of the Chandigarh Administration.
