Chandigarh Vigilance Cell Gets Reinforcement: Two Inspectors Appointed on Deputation

In a move aimed at strengthening vigilance and anti-corruption mechanisms in the Union Territory, the Chandigarh Administration has appointed two police inspectors to the Vigilance Cell on deputation for a period of three years.
According to an order issued by the Vigilance Department, Inspector Lakhbir Singh (No. 517/CHG) and Inspector Rohit Kumar (No. 688/CHG) have been deputed to the Vigilance Cell, Chandigarh Administration, with immediate effect.
The order, issued by D. Karthikeyan, IAS, Secretary Vigilance, Chandigarh Administration, states that the appointments have been made on the usual terms and conditions governing deputation. The Director General of Police, Chandigarh, has been requested to relieve both officers to enable them to join their new assignments in the Vigilance Cell.
The move is expected to enhance the operational capacity of the Vigilance Department, which plays a crucial role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and integrity in public administration. Officials believe that the induction of experienced police officers will further strengthen investigations and monitoring of vigilance-related matters in the Union Territory.
The appointments come as the Chandigarh Administration continues its efforts to bolster institutional mechanisms for good governance and effective oversight of public services.
