Career Guidance and Motivational Interaction for Meritorious Class X Students of Government Schools Held at UT Secretariat

Under the visionary guidance of the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, the Department of School Education, Chandigarh organized a Career Guidance and Motivational Interaction Session for meritorious Class X students of Government Schools at the UT Secretariat. The initiative aimed to inspire students, provide informed career guidance and encourage them to pursue excellence in academics and life.

The programme was attended by Nitish Singla, Director School Education, Chandigarh along with officers of the School Education Department and teachers. A total of 114 meritorious students from Government Schools participated enthusiastically in the session.

The distinguished resource persons included Raj Malhotra, IAS Mentor, Saadgi Malhotra, Educational Psychologist and Dr. Ramneek Sharma, Rotary Club Member, who shared their valuable experiences and interacted extensively with the students.

Addressing the students, Raj Malhotra encouraged them to dream big, remain disciplined and work with dedication towards their goals. Sharing his own journey, he motivated the students to prepare sincerely for future competitive examinations. In a significant announcement, he stated that deserving meritorious students facing financial constraints in preparing for the Civil Services Examination would be provided free coaching for IAS preparation so that financial limitations do not hinder talent and aspirations.

Nitish Singla motivated the students by sharing his own experiences and highlighting the importance of discipline, consistency and focused learning. He advised students to avoid distractions, particularly excessive mobile phone usage, and stressed the importance of regular physical exercise, walking and maintaining a healthy lifestyle for academic success and overall well-being.

Saadgi Malhotra guided the students on stress management, emotional resilience, positive thinking, effective study habits and maintaining a balanced approach towards academic challenges. Dr. Ramneek Sharma encouraged the students to uphold strong moral values, develop a sense of social responsibility and embrace lifelong learning.

The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who raised several questions on career opportunities, competitive examinations, study techniques, time management, mental well-being and personal development. The resource persons addressed each query with practical insights and motivational guidance, making the interaction informative and inspiring.

It was also announced that students requiring individual career guidance or psychological counselling would be provided one-to-one counselling support to help them make informed academic and career choices.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a reaffirmation of the Department of School Education’s commitment to organizing such meaningful initiatives for nurturing the potential of young learners. The interaction left the students inspired, confident and motivated to excel in their chosen fields and contribute positively to society.
