Three Chandigarh Police Inspectors Given ‘Look After Charge’ of DSP Posts
The Voice of Chandigarh
The Chandigarh Administration’s Home Department has assigned the ‘look after charge’ of the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to three inspectors of the Chandigarh Police with immediate effect. The arrangement will remain in force until the vacant DSP posts are filled on a regular basis.

According to the official order, Inspector Malkit Singh (No. 312/CHG), Inspector Poonam Dilawari (No. 314/CHG), and Inspector Parvesh Sharma (No. 315/CHG) have been entrusted with the routine duties of the DSP post.
The Home Department has clarified that the assignment is purely temporary and should not be treated as a precedent for future promotions or regular appointments. The officers will continue to perform only the routine responsibilities associated with the post.
The order further states that the inspectors will not be authorized to exercise the statutory powers of a DSP. They will also not be entitled to any additional salary, allowances, seniority, or promotional benefits attached to the DSP rank. The temporary arrangement will have no bearing on their inter-se seniority and may be withdrawn by the administration at any time without assigning any reason.
