Chandigarh Red Cross Expands ‘Panchi Basera’ Initiative, Plans More Bird Habitats Across the City

Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, Chandigarh Red Cross reviewed the expansion of “RED CROSS PANCHI BASERA” recently developed in the premises of Deputy Commissioner Office, Sector 17, Chandigarh. Amandeep Singh, Bhatti, PCS, ADC-cum-Secretary alongwith Punam Malik, Nodal Officer and staff of DC office were also present.
The set up has been developed as an extension to already launched bird welfare programme started from Infosys Red Cross Sarai, PGIMER, Chandigarh with the efforts of Nodal Officer, Chandigarh Red Cross Branch. The Chairman and Secretary, IRCS UT Branch appreciated this unique initiated under the aim to provide safe nesting spaces, food and clean drinking water for birds across the city.
Speaking on the occasion Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, DC-cum-Chairman, Red Cross stated that with this new installation, the Chandigarh Red Cross continues its commitment and will develop similar bird habitat at Raen Basera, Sector 17, HOSPICE, Sector 43, Chandigarh and other suitable places in the city.
