NHRACF Chandigarh Celebrates Independence Day with Kite Flying Competition, Teej Mehndi & Nasha Mukt Yuva

Members of the National Human Rights & Anti-Corruption Force (NHRACF), Chandigarh, under the leadership of its President, Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, celebrated the 80th Independence Day at Rose Garden, Sector 16, Chandigarh, with a Kite Flying Competition and a special Mehndi arrangement for women on the occasion of Teej. The programme was organised in collaboration with The Environment Society of India, Chandigarh.

Amit Kumar, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Welcoming the Chief Guest, members and guests, Kamaljit Singh Panchhi extended his warm greetings to everyone on the 80th Independence Day. As part of the “Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat” campaign, awareness pamphlets carrying the message of “Say No to Drugs” were distributed by the Chief Guest and NHRACF members among visitors to the Rose Garden.

Addressing the gathering, Amit Kumar appreciated Panchhi and the NHRACF members for organising such a meaningful public-awareness programme. He emphasised that drug abuse does not destroy only an individual; it affects and devastates entire families. He appealed to everyone to collectively raise their voice against drug abuse and make every possible effort to protect the younger generation from addiction.

On the occasion, Anil Vohra, Chairman, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest, members, guests and all participants for sparing their valuable time to join the Independence Day celebrations. He said that combining the Nasha Mukt Yuva awareness campaign, Kite Flying Competition and Teej Mehndi arrangements provided an opportunity to spread a positive social message while celebrating the spirit of Independence.

Refreshments were served to all participants at the conclusion of the programme. Prominent members, including N.K. Jinghan, Ravinder Nath, Diljit Thukral, Rajan Mahajan,  Naresh Bansal, Krishan Sachdeva and other members and guests were present on the occasion.
