STAKEHOLDERS’ MEET HELD TO PROMOTE JAWAI REGION AT UPCOMING RDTM AND MTM: AROUND 95 TOURISM STAKEHOLDERS FROM JAWAI, RANAKPUR, GHANERAO, PALI AND SIROHI PARTICIPATED IN THE MEETING

The Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) organised a stakeholders’ meet in preparation for the upcoming Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) in Jaipur and the first Marwar Travel Mart (MTM) in Jodhpur. Held at Aaramgah Jawai Resort & Spa – Kotra Boya, Bali of district Pali, the meeting was attended by around 95 tourism stakeholders from Jawai, Ranakpur, Ghanerao, Pali and Sirohi.

Chief Guest, Pali District Collector and District Magistrate, Dr. Ravindra Goswami, addressed the gathering online and extended his best wishes for the initiative. He said that Jawai’s identity should not be limited to leopard safaris and that the region’s other tourism potential also needs to be effectively presented and marketed. He shared valuable suggestions on the tourism development and wider marketing of Jawai.

Senior Additional Director, Rajasthan Tourism, Mr. Anand Tripathi addressed the gathering as the Guest of Honour. Providing an overview of the initiatives being undertaken by the Tourism Department, he said that the role of the government and the Tourism Department is that of a facilitator, while the private sector has a crucial role to play in driving the tourism industry forward. Appreciating Jawai’s natural beauty, he congratulated the region’s tourism stakeholders for their efforts to establish Jawai on the tourism map. He added that enquiries about Jawai are now being received at various trade fairs in India and abroad, reflecting the destination’s growing popularity.
FHTR President, Mr. Surendra Singh Shahpura highlighted the importance of active participation in trade shows and tourism fairs. He said that before marketing an individual hotel, it is important to market the destination as a whole, as strong destination branding benefits all tourism businesses.

FHTR Secretary, Mr. Tarun Bansal shared details about the Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) and Marwar Travel Mart (MTM), stating that participation in these events would provide tourism businesses in the Jawai region with an important opportunity to connect with new markets and the travel trade. JHARA President and Chairman of Marwar Travel Mart, Mr. J. M. Boob, said that JHARA and local associations were making arrangements to welcome all delegates and ensure a comfortable experience.
RATO President, Mr. Mahendra Singh Rathore, said that interest in the Jawai region among the travel trade is steadily increasing and that the area has immense tourism potential. Meanwhile, TAAJ President, Mr. Gajraj Singh, highlighted the importance of participating in MTM, stating that the event would provide an effective platform to showcase the culture and tourism of the entire Marwar region, including Jawai.

JHARA Secretary, Mr. Rajesh Singhvi, spoke about the cost-effective participation options at MTM and the opportunities available to participants. The Jawai Hotel Association also made a presentation on the region’s tourism potential, emphasising the need to take Jawai beyond leopard tourism. Information was also shared on new tourism events and initiatives, including the proposed Jawai Marathon. Jawai Hotel Association President, Mr. Bhupendra Singh Ranawat, expressed his commitment to taking these initiatives forward.
Aaramgah owner, Mr. Tanay Agrawal, said that the Jawai region is preparing to participate extensively in both RDTM and MTM. He highlighted the distinctive features of Jawai that give the destination a unique identity compared to other tourism destinations.
Owner of Camp Bagheera, Jawai, Ms. Padmaja Kumari Rathore, emphasised the need to maintain a balance between tourism development and environmental conservation. She said that tourism in a sensitive natural region like Jawai must be developed in a responsible and sustainable manner.
FHTR Vice President, Mr. Gyan Prakash, proposed the Vote of Thanks and shared insights into the journey from GITB to RDTM, including the conceptualisation, development and growing impact of these tourism platforms. He said that such platforms play an important role in connecting Rajasthan’s tourism products with national and international markets.
At the event, JHARA Vice President, Mr. Jugal Jakhar; Jawai Hotel Association Secretary, Mr. Lokendra Singh and IHHA’s Mr. Raghuvendra Singh Jhalamand also shared their views on promoting tourism in Jawai and the opportunities offered through MTM. Prominent representatives from the tourism sector were also present at the event. Aaramgah representatives Mr. Tanay Agrawal and Mr. Devang Agrawal hosted the meeting.
It is to be noted that the 6th Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) will be held in Jaipur from 17 to 19 September 2026. The event is expected to bring together around 300 travel agents from across the country and more than 700 properties and tour companies from Rajasthan. The first Marwar Travel Mart (MTM) will be held in Jodhpur from 20 to 22 September 2026, with around 125 travel agents from across the country and 300 properties expected to participate. Both events will be organised by the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan.
