Major Reshuffle in Chandigarh Police: Top IPS Officers Assigned New Portfolios

In a significant administrative movement, the Office of the Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), UT Chandigarh, has issued temporary transfer and posting orders for four senior police officers with immediate effect until further orders.
The order, issued following approval from the Director General of Police (DGP), UT Chandigarh, assigns new roles to recently transferred and existing IPS and DANIPS officers:

Rajesh Kumar Sharma, IPS (2014): Transferred from Jammu & Kashmir, he has been posted as SSP/Operations, Cyber Crime, Commandant/IRB, and Assistant Commandant General Home Guard.

Vinit Kumar, IPS (2018): Joining on transfer from Delhi, he takes over as SP/Headquarters & Communication, with the additional charge of Vigilance.

Anurag Daru, IPS (2022): Formerly serving as Commandant/IRB and Assistant Commandant General Home Guard with additional charge of SP/Security & Traffic, he has now been posted as SP/Crime, Economic Offences Wing (EOW), and Security & Traffic.

Vijay, DANIPS: Previously SP/Headquarters & Communication, he has been assigned as SP/City, Women & Child Support Unit (W&CSU), and Intelligence.
Under the new arrangement, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, IPS, DIGP, UT Chandigarh, will oversee and supervise the overall functioning of Headquarters, Operations, Cyber Crime, Communication, Vigilance, Crime, Economic Offences Wing, IRBn, and ACGHG.
