A joint visit of critical polling stations in village Dhanas and the area of Small Flats, Dhanas was carried out by Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer Vinay Pratap Singh and Sr Supdt of Police kanwardeep Kaur along with SDM cum ARO & SDPO to review the poll preparedness and to check the facilities at polling stations as per instructions of Election Commission of India.

DC informed that few polling stations have been identified as critical & vulnerable in UT Chandigarh and senior officers will keep watch on such polling stations. Special emphasis was laid by the DC on proper arrangements at polling stations on the day of polling and to ensure that the entire polling process is carried out in an orderly manner.

SSP also emphasised on proper security at the critical polling stations with secured campus walls. DC informed that live webcasting will be done from all 614 polling stations on the date of poll and micro-observers will also be deployed at selected polling stations to keep watch on suspicious activity in polling stations. Preventive action under CrPC is being carried out by Chandigarh Police against identified criminals & miscreants on mission mode to ensure free & fair elections.
