Anti Dengue drive and Awareness Bike-Car rally conducted by Malaria Wing of Health Department U.T, Chandigarh

An Anti Dengue drive and Awareness Bike-Car rally was conducted by Malaria Wing of Health Department U.T, Chandigarh in collaboration with an NGO, Contribution Smart City Chandigarh. More than 70 bikers and 20 cars participated in this event. The participants included volunteers of NGO, officers, officials & field workers from Malaria Wing of Health Department .

The rally was flagged off by Dr Dharampal IAS , Advisor to the Administrator and he appreciated the efforts of the Health Department for this anti-dengue drive and also told them to continue their efforts to contain dengue and other vector borne diseases.

Ajay Chagti IAS , Secretary Health , Dr. Suman Singh , Director Health Services and Vikram Bawa Founder of NGO- Contribution Smart City were also present on the occasion.

The rally proceeded from Sector 9 to the four sensitive areas i.e Daria, Faidan, Dadumajra, and Maloya. On reaching these areas an extensive house to house survey for mosquitogenic situation was carried out. Besides this, IEC activities like megaphone announcements and pamphlet distribution regarding dengue preventive measures were carried out by the teams. Fogging was also done in the different locations at these places by the teams. 21 notices were also served to the defaulters for mosquitogenic conditions.
