At Golden Temple, Manish Tewari prays for peace and a brighter 2026
Chandigarh MP calls for world peace and prosperity, affirming Punjab’s strength in facing challenges

Tewari further said that there is a lot of internal conflict in the world, while adding, “There is an atmosphere of conflict everywhere. Therefore, we have come to Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib with all our colleagues to pray for the well-being of all. And I pray to God that there be peace in the world, our country progresses and especially that Punjab remains in Chardi Kala (high spirits).”
Responding to a media query about the loss suffered by Punjab last year, particularly during floods, Tewari said, “This year, there is a hope for high spirits and well-being. I wish and pray that year 2026 will be better than 2025. And you’re right, Punjab has suffered a lot and not just now but for several centuries. But it is a great victory of the Punjab, Punjabis and Punjabiyat that no matter what difficulties came, no matter what troubles came, no matter what challenges came, Punjabis have faced every challenge and every difficulty with great courage.”
On being asked about the 2027 Punjab Assembly Elections, Tewari said, “Today, we have come to Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib for darshan and to pay our respects. This is not a political visit. When we come for political purposes, we will definitely talk about 2027.”
On this occasion, Tewari was accompanied with former MLAs Sunil Dutti and Jugal Kishor Sharma, President DCC Amritsar Sourabh Madan, Nitin Arora (OSD to MP Gurjit Ahujla) and former President of the DCC Ludhiana (Urban) Pawan Dewan.
