Bihar Foundation to observe Bihar Diwas on March 22

The Bihar Foundation (Punjab & Chandigarh Chapter) is set to host a grand celebration on the occasion of Bihar Diwas on March 22, 2026 (Sunday) at Baba Makhan Shah Lubana Bhawan, Sector 30-A, Chandigarh. The event will be graced by H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS (Chief Secretary, Chandigarh) as the Chief Guest and Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, IPS (DGP, Chandigarh) as the Guest of Honour. The event will be presided over by Dr. Rupesh Singh, Chairman, Bihar Foundation (Punjab & Chandigarh Chapter).

The celebration will showcase the rich cultural heritage of Bihar through vibrant performances. Renowned Bhojpuri folk singer Nikhil Mahadev Jha will enthrall the audience, along with energetic folk dance performances by the Shankara Live Music Band. A special felicitation ceremony will also be held to honour outstanding individuals from the Bihari community in the city.

Guests will also get to relish authentic traditional Bihari cuisine during lunch, adding a delightful culinary experience to the event.

One of the key highlights of the celebration will be the presence of traditional stalls featuring iconic Bihari delicacies and crafts such as litti-chokha, ghughni, chura, kachori, sev, boondi, laddoo, chana sattu, Madhubani paintings, Bhagalpuri silk, gaja, khaja, khurma, dal badi, papad, tilauri, khoa lai (barh), roasted makhana, and Bhagalpur Katarni chura. These stalls will offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience the authentic flavors, art, and craftsmanship of Bihar under one roof.

This event aims to celebrate and promote Bihar’s rich cultural legacy while bringing together people from different walks of life on a common platform of unity and pride.
