British Deputy High Commission Chandigarh and Alliance Française Chandigarh Screen ‘Five Films For Freedom’

The Voice of Chandigarh : The British Deputy High Commission, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Alliance Française Chandigarh, organised a special screening of Five Films For Freedom at Alliance Française, Sector 36.

The event was graced by Caroline Rowett, British Deputy High Commissioner, Chandigarh.

Five Films For Freedom is a global online short film programme celebrating LGBTQIA+ stories, produced by the British Council in partnership with BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival. The screening attracted a diverse audience, including social workers, LGBTQIA+ community members, filmmakers, educationists, and students.

Every year, five LGBTQIA+ themed short films are made available online for free for 12 days during the BFI Flare Festival. This year, Five Films For Freedom runs from 19-30 March, inviting people worldwide to watch and support LGBTQIA+ storytelling.
