Chandigarh Beopar Mandal Urges Traders to Highlight GST Rate Cuts and Pass Benefits to Consumers

Chandigarh, September 22, 2025: In a recent meeting chaired by Sanjiv Chadha, President of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM), the organization expressed gratitude to the central government for simplifying and reducing GST slabs on essential items. The meeting was attended by senior officials including Chairman Charanjiv Singh, Vice President Diwakar Sahoonja, Chief Advisor Bhupinder Narad, Senior Vice President Subhash Narang, General Secretary Balvinder Singh, Advisor Varinder Gupta, Vice President Baljinder Singh Gujral, General Secretary Sunil Gupta, and Finance Secretary Radhe Lal Bajaj.

The CBM has appealed to traders to prominently display the reduced GST rates in their establishments and ensure that the benefits are passed on to consumers. To raise awareness, the CBM plans to distribute pamphlets and display colorful posters and banners in all markets across the city, highlighting the savings from the GST rate cuts.

Additionally, the CBM has urged the central government to simplify the return filing process to ease the business environment. They also requested the local administration to amend commercial building bylaws as necessary to further promote trade in the city.

This initiative aims to ensure that consumers benefit from the recent GST reforms and that the trading community continues to thrive in a conducive environment.
