Chandigarh Congress Condemns Amit Shah’s Words on Dr. Ambedkar, Burns Effigy in Protest

The Chandigarh Congress staged a strong protest against Union Home Minister Amit Shah for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. The protest, led by local Congress president H.S. Lucky, took place at Bapu Dham Colony, Sector 26, where the demonstrators burned Shah’s effigy.
During the protest, H.S. Lucky condemned Shah’s remarks and demanded an apology. He stated that the Home Minister should apologize for his words, as they displayed disrespect and insult towards Dr. Ambedkar. Lucky further criticized Shah’s mindset, stating that such low-level comments could only come from someone with a deteriorated mentality, which was an affront to the legacy of the Constitution’s maker.
He emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions were fundamental to the creation of India’s Constitution, and any derogatory remarks against him were an attack on the dignity of the nation.
The protest saw participation from several prominent leaders, including Chandigarh Congress Vice President Rajeev Modigil, Spokesperson Krishna Lal, Chairperson of the State Congress Utility Gopal Atri, Deputy Chairperson of the State Minority Cell Istiayag, President of Women’s Congress Nandita Hooda, Youth Congress General Secretary Ashu Ved, and several other Congress workers.
The Congress party made it clear that it would always stand for the respect and protection of Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and his invaluable contributions to the nation.
