Action against Gambling
Chandigarh Police arrested Ajay R/o # 6509/B, Sector-56, Chandigarh while he was playing satta near his house on 18.07.2021. Total cash Rs. 2740/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 190, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh
A case FIR No. 150, U/S 188, 269, 270 IPC & 58 Disaster Management Act 2005 has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh against Pawan Kumar (Manager), Jaswant Singh (Supervisor), Naveen Kumar (Bar Manager), Amritanshu Aggarwal (Owner) & Devdeep Chaterji (Owner) who opened Great Bear Restaurant, SCO No. 32, Sector 26, Chandigarh beyond the permissible time limit and violated the orders of District Magistrate, UT, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A case FIR No. 41, U/S 279, 337, 304A IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh on the statement of Munna Lal R/o # 151, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh against Parvej R/o # 2057/B, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh driver of Auto No. PB-65AW-7267 which overturned at dividing road, Sector-19/20, Chandigarh on 18.07.2021. Driver of Auto namely Parvej and passenger namely Vinod Kumar R/o # 774/C, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh both got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh where Vinod Kumar expired during treatment. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 114, U/S 419, 420, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sunil Saran R/o # 222, Sector-22/A, Chandigarh who reported that unknown person sent him sms regarding deactivation of complainant’s sim card. On this, complainant made a call on that number and person introduced himself as Deepak Verma from Airtel. He advised complainant to install quick support app and got its access from complainant and made fraud transactions of Rs. 6.80 lakh from complainant’s account on 18.07.2021. Investigation of the case is in progress.
MV Theft
Lakhinder Rai R/o # 383, Village-Kishangarh, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH-01CB-8322 parked near # 17, Sector 21/A, Chandigarh on 28.06.2021. A case FIR No. 42, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Manoj Saini R/o # 1012, Power Colony, Sector-28, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s MotorCycle No. CH-01AQ-8771 from back side Bus Stop, Sector-28, Chandigarh on 13.07.2021. A case FIR No. 149, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Akshdeep Singh R/o Village-Bassian Baidwan, Distt- Faithgarh Sahib (PB) reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Motor Cycle No. PB-23R-6149 from parking of Garden of Spring, Sector-53, Chandigarh on 15.07.2021.
