Chandigarh Election Officer Outlines Special Summary Revision Schedule and Public Guidelines

As a part of pre-revision activities, a meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Vinay Pratap Singh, District Election Officer–cum-Deputy Commissioner, U.T., Chandigarh with political parties, AEROs and other partner agencies, School education, Nodal officer SVEEP and PwD.
In the meeting, the District Election Officer informed the political parties about the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll-2025. As per the schedule, pre-revision activities will be held from 20.08.2024 (Tuesday) to 18.10.2024 (Friday) and Draft publication of roll will be done on 29.10.2024 (Tuesday). During the pre-revision activities, BLOs are visiting door to door for identification, verification, enrolment, removal of Demographical Similar Entries (DSE), Dead voters, multiple voters and Shifted voters.
It was also informed that during the Revision activities, claims and objections will be received from the general public from 29.10.2024 (Tuesday) to 28.11.2024 (Thursday) and also directed all the AEROs to dispose-off all the claims and objections in a time bound manner. The District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, U.T., Chandigarh urged the General Public to verify their votes and if they are found unenrolled, they can apply Form No.6 for enrolment; if any correction is required, then fill Form No.8. Citizens can verify/apply the Forms on voters.eci.gov.in or voter helpline app or can submit the form to BLOs, for more information citizen can call 1950 (Voter Helpline Number).
All the political parties were requested to appoint (Booth Level Agent) BLAs and give suggestions w.r.t. rationalization of polling stations during Special Summary Revision 2025.
Further general Public as well as the Political Parties are Informed that the Election Commission of India has conveyed a schedule programme of Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll w.r.t. 01.01.2025 as a qualifying date. As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, the Draft Roll w.r.t. 01-01-2025 as the qualifying date will be published on 29.10.2024.
