Chandigarh Food Safety Department Launches Special Drive to Ensure Safe Festive Sweets

With the festive season around the corner, the demand for sweets is at an all- time high. However, the Food Safety Department, U.T. Chandigarh, has raised concerns about the preparation and sale of adulterated sweets. To address this issue, the department has launched a special checking drive to ensure that sweets are prepared and sold under Hygenic conditions.
The department had issued a special orders to all Food Safety Officers to conduct regular checks on eateries, sweet retail, and manufacturing units. Any non- compliance found during these checks will be met with swift action.
The Food Safety Department appeals to all residents and consumers to be cautions and vigilant while eating out and buying food products.
