Chandigarh Police Achieves Major Success Arrested Drug Peddler and Recovered 225 Gms. Heroine

District Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police, under the supervision of SSP UT Kuldeep Singh Chahal, SP City Shruti Arora and Inspector Narinder Patial, achieved another major success by arresting a drug Peddler named Ajay Kumar age 24 years S/o Jagdamba Parshad R/o H.No. 278, Village Awasthi Purwa, Police Station Katra Bazar, Distt. Gonda(UP) and recovered 255 gms Heroin (Commercial quantity) from his possession.
In continually of back forward link of previously arrested accused Amit Sharma, the said drug peddler was apprehended by a police patrolling party of Distt. Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police at Raipur Khurd on 9.12.2022. During the interrogation of accused Ajay he disclosed that he used to sell heroin in Zirakpur and other adjoining area. It is very interesting that the drug was carried in a steel container (Milk Doli) which was prepared by two steel containers, on the top of the container he kept Ghee and at the bottom drug was kept. Two pieces of cold cream in which at the top cold cream and at the bottom heroin was kept and he used to sell the drug through cold cream container so that nobody suspected about their illegal activities. The Heroin was given to him by main supplier Amit Sharma from whom 2 kg 10 grams Heroin was recovered for sale and in lieu of that he got Rs. 5000/- per day. The main accused Amit Sharma is a habitual offender, having 15 criminal cases including 4 cases of NDPS Act, 10 cases of burglaries/dacoities etc. had not disclosed about the room taken on rent by him at village Raipur Khurd where said Ajay used to stay. Earlier Ajay Kumar was used to sell fruit in a rehri at Ambala Cantt and he came into the contact of Amit Sharma about 8/9 months ago. The police custody of accused Amit Sharma finished on 9.12.2022 so he was again produced before the Illaqa Magistrate and obtained 3 days further police custody.
That when the accused Ajay disclosed the name of king pin Amit Sharma, both were confronted and found well known to each other. Therefore, intensive interrogation of accused was carried out and as a result of which the accused disclosed that he kept another consignment of heroin in a room taken on rent at Village Raipur Khurd. On the basis of disclosure statement of accused Amit Sharma, 1 kg heroin was also recovered which he hidden in a special place constructed behind the almirah’s drawer. Beside this 6 mobile phones have also been recovered which he used to contact customers. Accused Amit Sharma sell the Heroin from past 2/3 years and earn lots of money from which he cleared his loan amounting Rs.70 lacs(approx.), purchased 1 flat and 2 shops in Zirakpur, Punjab from drug money.
Further investigation of the case is progress. The accused had acquired huge properties from drug money which are being identified and the same will be forfeited as per law.
