Chandigarh Police Arrangements for Holi 2024

Keeping in view of Holi Festival, Chandigarh Police has made special arrangements to avoid any untoward incident and to maintain Law & Order in the city. On 24 and 25.03.2024, approximately 1000 police personnel will be deployed throughout the day to keep watch on miscreants etc. The total 102 Nakas from Police Stations will be laid at different places at different times. Outer border Nakas will also be deployed.
The PCR vehicles patrolling will be intensified around the Girls Hostels, Panjab University with special cheetah motor cycles active in the Colony areas. A limited vehicle zone will be at Geri Route from 11/12 T- point to small chowk Sector 9/10, Chandigarh. Adequate arrangements are also being made at Sukhna Lake, Elante Mall, busy markets of Sector 15, 11, 17, 22, 20, Hostels and other institutions.
The drunken driving Nakas will be placed near all important roads and places, light points in the city.
Special focus will be kept on colonies and slum areas too. The special drive will be carried to curb eve-teasing, hooliganism and drinking at public places.
Appeal: The general public is requested to celebrate the festival of colours with love and brotherhood.
Further, it is advised to the general public, not to indulge in any sort of hooliganism, violence and traffic violations especially drunken driving. Strict action will be taken against any such activity.
