Chandigarh Police Celebrates National Unity Day/ Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

The birth anniverisy of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel is being celebrated as a National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. On this occasion, Chandigarh Police organized display of band consisting Chandigarh Police, Punjab Police, Haryana Police and ITBP at Sukhna Lake, UT, Chandigarh. The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit was the chief guest on this event. Dharampal, Advisor to the Administrator, Parveer Ranjan, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh, Nitin Yadav, Home Secretary, UT, Chandigarh R.K. Singh, IPS, IGP/UT, Ms. Manisha Chaudhary, IPS, SSP/Traffic & Security, Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT, Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/HQR along with the other officers of UT Administration and police department were also present on this occasion. The chief guest and all the dignitaries floral tribute to the statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.
The flag march was conducted by the band staff followed by the melodious tunes. The theme of Sadbhavana Diwas was to promote National Integration and Communal Harmony among people of all religions, languages and regions. Further, the following police personnel of band staff were rewarded for the best performance i.e HC Jeet Ram from ITBP, SI Onkar Chand from Punjab Police, ASI Lok Bahadur, Pipe Band from Chandigarh Police, SI Ashok Kumar from Haryana Police and Constable Amar Chand of Chandigarh Police.
