Chandigarh Police celebrating 15th Chandigarh Police Week from
The Voice of Chandigarh : Chandigarh Police is celebrating 15th Chandigarh Police Week from 14th to 19th November, 2023. During the celebration on 14th November, 2023 a “CYCLOTHON” event was organized at Sukhna Lake, at 7:30 Am. The motive of this event was awareness to follow the Traffic Rules while driving the vehicle, to avoid drugs and make your life drug free and to support Cyber Swachhta Mission and take preventive measures while digital transactions. Students of Drug/Cyber/Traffic by Cyber Interns/Road Safety Rangers/SPC/Urja Ek Nayi Kiran were the part of this Cycle rally.
The Chief Guest of “CYCLOTHON” event was Parveer Ranjan, IPS, DGP-UT, Chandigarh and Guest of Honor Gurpreet Ghuggi, Actor/Comedian. In this event Raj Kumar Singh, IPS, IGP-UT, Manisha Chaudhary IPS, SSP-Traffic & Security, Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP-UT, Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP-HQ & Cyber Crime, Mridul, IPS, SP-City and A Venkatesh, DANIPS, DSP/Cyber Crime & IT and other DSP’s attended the Cycle Rally. There was approximately gathering of 400 in cycle rally consisting officers, cyber interns, traffic rangers etc. The “CYCLOTHON” started from Sukhna Lake and return back after taking round from New Barricades, Old Barricades, Heera Singh Chowk and back to Sukhna Lake.

CYBER CRIME PREVENTIVE TIPS
- Use NCB Drug Abuse Awareness Helpline No. 94177-73344, and Chandigarh Police Drug Abuse Awareness Team Helpline No. 70872- 39010.
- Use Helpline No. 1073 for any traffic related issues/problems.
- Turn on 2-step verification/authentication for all Social Media Accounts and for net banking apps/wallets. Select privacy setting as only me/friends on social media accounts.
- Avoid friendship with unknown people (especially foreigner) on social media platforms.
- Ensure all devices/accounts are protected by a strong PIN (with combination of letters/numbers/alphabet/symbol) or pass code like St49@&V2. Never share your PIN or password with anyone.
- Never install any screen sharing app or remote desktop app in your phone like any-desk, team viewer, VNC connect, quick support etc.
- Never click on any link or scan any QR code received from unknown person as it may be scam to cheat you.
- Do not trust Job/Visa/Work from home advertisement on Facebook or other social media platform.
- Never pay/receive advance money while purchasing and selling second hand Goods from Olx, Quiker etc.
- Do not take personal loan from unknown app or website. This could result in blackmailing you.
- Don’t trust on calls disclosing themselves close to relatives residing abroad, specially of Canada or Australia.
