Chandigarh Police Conducts Special Checking Drives Ahead of Republic Day 2024

Keeping in view the forthcoming Republic Day Celebration-2024, and the present security scenario and to curb the criminals in the city, Chandigarh Police is carrying out special checking drives, ensuring law and order in place by conducting area domination and evening nakas and verifying the movements of criminals/history sheeters at Police Station levels in the supervision of concerned SHOs and SDPOs under the guidance of SSP, UT, Chandigarh.

As per the directions of senior officers all police stations under the subdivisions have conducted drives in which habitual offenders, jail/bail released, and BCs were called to Police Stations and verified. A total of 158 arrested/jail-released persons were verified as per the below-given detail:- SN SubDivision Arrested/ jail released verified 1. East 59 2. North East 24 3. Central 30 4. South 16 5. South West 29 Total 158 Apart from above, a special foot march was also carried out at Khuda Lahora, Bapudham Colony, Grain Market, Sector 26, Manimajra, Ramdarbar, Daddu Majra Colony by the force consisting of staff of police stations, ITBP, RAF, CAPFs in the supervision of area SDPO’s and SHO’s. The area domination and evening nakas are being placed at various places for checking suspected persons and vehicles on a routine basis.
