Two arrested under NDPS Act

District Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Pankaj Thakur R/o # 812, Deep Complex, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh (Age-38 year) and recovered 41 gm heroin from his possession near Makhan Majra Turn, Chandigarh on 04-02-2023. A case FIR No. 17, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. Chandigarh Police arrested Ashu R/o # 1313, Ph-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh (Age-25 year) and recovered 05 gm heroin from his possession near BSNL Turn, Ph-2, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on 04-02-2023. A case FIR No. 19, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Causing death due to negligence

A case FIR No. 25, U/S 304A IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the statement of Vikash Kumar R/o # 353, Burail, Sector-45, Chandigarh who alleged that due to negligence of contractor Amrik Singh Gill R/o # 2661/C, MIG Super, Sector-70, Mohali (PB) complainant and another worker namely Pappu Thakur got electric shock while working at underground work near Cardiology Department, PGI on 04-02-2023. Victim Pappu Thakur expired during treatment at PGI, Chandigarh. Alleged person was arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 18, U/S 420, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-Cyber Crime, Chandigarh on the complaint of Manish K.C. Goutam R/o Room No. 49, Old Doctors Hostel, Block-C, PGI, Chandigarh who reported that unknown person sent a link for updating KYC for his SBI Yono App on 27-01-2023. On clicking the said link an app was installed in which the complainant filled up his bank details. After that total of Rs. 61000/- was deducted from his bank account. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A case FIR No. 07, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women on the complaint of a lady R/o Khudda Lahora, Chandigarh against her husband R/o Sector-44, Chandigarh who harassed complainant on the pretext of demanding more dowry. Investigation of the case is in progress.
