Action against gambling/satta
Chandigarh Police arrested Ricky R/o # 718/14, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh (Age-34 years) while playing satta near Civil Hospital, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 29-04-2023. Total cash Rs. 7200/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 24, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested for possessing illegal liquor
District Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Deepak Kumar R/o # 1339, Ph-3, Zirakpur (PB) (age-30 yrs) and recovered 144 NIPS (180 ml each) of English whiskey and 400 NIPS (180 ml each) country made liquor from his Maruti car No. CH-01CK-4429 near dividing road, Sector 40-C/D, Chandigarh on 29.04.2023. A case FIR No. 72 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested with fake number plate
Chandigarh Police arrested Sandeep R/o near Govt. accommodation near Peer Baba Dargah, Ph-7, Mohali (PB) aged 26 years, while he was using fake Registration No. CH01BB5546 on stolen Bullet MotorCycle near Vita Booth, Sector 48, Chandigarh on 15.03.2021. During investigation the original number of Bullet Motorcycle was found as HR03AA6448 which was stolen from Mauli Jagran in June 2022. In this regard, a case FIR No. 30, U/S 471, 473, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A case FIR No. 43, U/S 279, 337 added 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the statement of Anuj Yadav R/o # 4/3, Village-Faidan Nizampur, Chandigarh who reported that unknown driver of loading vehicle No. HR-58B-3018 sped away after hitting one unknown beggar type person (pedestrian) near ITI light point opposite to Sukhna Petrol Pump, Sector-28, Chandigarh on 29.04.2023. Pedestrian person (unknown) got injured and admitted in PGI, where he expired during the treatment. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 39, U/S 419, 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-Cyber, Chandigarh on the complaint of Anil Kumar Verma R/o # 303, Sector 10, Chandigarh who reported that unknown person told himself paytm customer care agent and cheated Rs. 15 lakh from complainant’s account by getting download any desk help app on complainant’s mobile phone on 29.11.2022. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 40, U/S 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-Cyber, Chandigarh on the complaint of Krishan Chand Sokhey R/o # 1234, Sector 8, Chandigarh who alleged that Rajiv Sharma, Manager and Sanjay Makkar, Director from Bajaj Finserv Limited issued him fake sanction letter of loan of Rs. 3.50 core to the complainant and cheated Rs. 58 lakh from complainant on pretext of depositing the processing fees and taxes in different transactions between July 2020 to 17.12.2022. Investigation of the case is in progress.
