One arrested for possessing illicit liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Divesh Kumar R/o # 736, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh (age 30-years) and recovered 52 quarters of country made liquor from his possession near road T-Point Raipur Kalan, Chandigarh on 14-06-2023. A case FIR No. 78, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Ritik @ Lallu R/o # 1331, Phase-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh (Age-20 years) and recovered 10.10 grams heroin from his possession near Slip Road, BSNL turn, Ph-2, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on 14.06.2023. A case FIR No. 90 U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling

Chandigarh Police arrested Mohd. Arfan R/o Village Jharr Majra, near Stadium, New Chandigarh, Distt. Mohali (Age-50 Years) & Ashwani R/o # 2139, Sector-52, Chandigarh, (Age-30 years), while they were gambling at Park, Sector 52, Chandigarh on 14.06.2023. Total cash Rs. 6500/- was recovered from their possession. A case FIR No. 157, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 49, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Pawandeep Singh R/o Village Ghanauli, Distt. Rup Nagar, (PB) Age-22 years, who alleged that driver of Fortuner car No PB03-AU-7707 namely Gyan Singh R/o Village Lohar Sukha Singh, Distt-Jalandhar (PB) Age-38 years hit complainant’s Motor Cycle No. PB12-AH-2362 near MLA Hostel, Dividing road, Sector-3/10, Chandigarh on 06.06.2023. Complainant sustained injuries and was admitted in GMSH-16, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

Kirpal Singh R/o # 6651, Sector-56, Chandigarh (Age- 60 years) reported that two unknown persons on Activa Scooter snatched his mobile phone near wine shop, Milk Colony Light Point, Dhanas, Chandigarh on 14-06-2023 and when complainant chased them they left their Activa Scooter PB65-AG-0233 and ran away. A case FIR No. 41, U/S 379A, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
